Sacred cow India on the beach
Sacred cow on the beach at Palolem, the southernmost community in Goa, India

When Sally and I found the beach our newfound friends had suggested when we met them in Pushkar, at the southern end of Goa, we found the respite we sought from the seething masses and perpetual motion that makes up India. Not as touristy as the rest of Goa, Palolem was somewhere we could chill and recover before heading back to our respective homes.

Every day brought a new perspective on the beach. Today was the sacredness of the cow.
