First, the aptly named Patagonia Cafe in Santa Lucia, a foreshadowing of things to come. We didn’t dine here but walked through the district after our ill-fated attempt to visit Pomaire.

I’m still not sure why, but instead of visiting the village in the Andes known for its clay pottery, we ended up on a walking tour of Santa Lucia, which was pleasant, followed by two stops for shopping – which wasn’t why we were here.
